At approximately 6:35 Sunday evening, an Irmo Fire District unit responded, with Columbia Fire Department (SC) and Richland County EMS units to a traffic accident involving multiple vehicles in the 4900 block of Broad River Road.

Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles with passengers entrapped in them. Crews began extrication and all parties involved were quickly extricated from the vehicles and transported to nearby hospitals. The road was temporarily closed while crews worked to extract the passengers.
