Savage Craft Ale Works celebrated its 2nd Anniversary, Saturday
Savage Craft Ale Works celebrated its second anniversary, Saturday.
Since the craft beer brewery, taproom and restaurant opened in 2021, it has become a regional drawing venue. In addition to becoming a popular spot for socialization, Savage Craft is a perfect example of reusing a historic and iconic building and making it a focal point for hospitality.
Steve Cohen was at Savage Craft on Saturday for the anniversary. He is a regular visitor and said he could not imagine the site without Savage Craft. “Two years already. Seems like it’s been home forever.”
The building, at 430 Center St., was once the Brookland City Hall and fire station. On Saturday, a vintage fire engine, that was once housed at the fire department, was on display in front of the building. West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles made note of the old fire engine and posted a photo of it from decades ago.
Savage Craft offers live music on a regular basis and it has helped revitalize West Columbia’s River District. The success of the business proves that West Columbia’s River District is the ideal location for business and social activity.
