George Crowe received 146 votes in the race for the District 3 seat on West Columbia City Council. Ashley Bennett Johnson received 142 votes and Bobby Horton got 35 votes, according to returns posted by the Lexington County Election Commission.

“I’m exhausted and I’m glad that it’s over,” Crowe said after the results were posted. He said he is looking forward to serving.

The four-vote difference triggers a recount before the vote can be certified. Certification is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
