Unique gifts for the West Columbia Christmas available on the Parade of Lights Shuttle this Saturday
The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Parade of Lights is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and the holiday shopping season is upon us. There are many unique gifts and shopping opportunities in West Columbia. Saturday is shaping up to be a special day for merchants before the parade.
“Our special WECO ornaments sell very well during the season,” said Lainie Lewis of State Street Trading Co. The pewter ornaments read: “Very Merry WECO Christmas.”
State Street Trading Co. also sells a rocks glass with a map of the City of West Columbia emblazoned on it, in addition to “29169” pillows. Glass Christmas trees are also selling well, Lewis said.
Lewis said she is offering 10 percent off everything in her store this Saturday.
Pedego Electric Bikes Soda City at 521 Meeting Street is selling electric bikes as Christmas gifts, said Alyssa Hewitt, shop manager. There are 16 different models of bikes for sale.
“An electric bike is a great Christmas gift,” she said. The market for the bikes ranges in age from children to retirees. Pedego Electric Bikes also sells gift certificates for bike rentals. “The West Columbia Riverwalk is a great place to take one of our rental bikes,” Hewitt said. Pedego Electric Bikes will have a its van in the parade and bikes, too.
If you want to personalize a gift, Carolina Signs and Designs on D Avenue in Triangle City can do it.
“We can personalize shirts, hats, blankets, and decals for individuals,” said Missy Curls, owner of Carolina Signs and Designs. The shop offers embroidery, digital printing, monogramming and ornaments. It also sells marketing products in bulk.
Barbara Jane’s Boutique in Granby Village Shopping Center is owned by Melissa Kyzer. She said the staff at Barbara Jane’s Boutique is certainly in the Christmas spirit. “And we’d love to find that perfect gift you want to give.” Barbara Jane’s will have a tent on the Chamber grounds Saturday and a car in the parade.
West Columbia’s Meeting Street Artisan Market 2nd Thursday Night Market is Thursday, and the Saturday Artisan Market is open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday. Also, all of the West Columbia businesses mentioned above will be a part of a special Saturday (Dec. 10.)
The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber’s Parade Day with the Finale “Holiday Parade of Lights” is Dec. 10. It’s not just a parade, but a whole day of Christmas-related events. The City of West Columbia’s parade floats will be on display in the Capital Square parking lot, on the backside, across from Savage Craft Ale Works, all day (Dec. 10) on the day of the parade.
The hop-on, hop off United Community Bank Parade Day Business Shuttle from 10 am to 4 pm – visiting over 35 local businesses, restaurants in shops, all offering fun, family friendly activities and holiday specials.

The main stop on the route is at the Peter Boulware Toyota of Columbia– North Pole located at the Chamber Office. Open 12 to 4 pm: Live music, visits from Santa, a Kid’s corner with canvas painting, a “mining” station with the Cayce quarry, face painting and more. We will have over 20 businesses set up with shopping and activities, including a holiday bouquet flower bar.
Parade Day concludes with the finale – the “Holiday Parade of Lights” at 5:30 pm.
