West Columbia City Council, at its meeting Tuesday, recognized Girl Scout Troop 1279 member Morgan Swygert for her community service project. She raised awareness for pediatric burn injuries and the SC Burned Children’s Camp, founded by the SC Firefighters Association.

Morgan also developed an education and recycling program that was officially launched at the 2022 West Columbia Kinetic Derby Day to help promote burn awareness and fire prevention throughout West Columbia and the Midlands.
