Historic Columbia Speedway taking shape for Cola Concerts venue
You won’t believe what they’ve done with the place.
Historic Columbia Speedway in Cayce was the venue, Monday, for a Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Mix and Mingle. The Chamber welcomed Cola Concerts.
“We’re truly investing in” the area said Adam Epstein, CEO of Innovations Arts and Entertainment, the company developing the historic speedway property. He said there is a similar facility in Cape Cod MA and 60,000 visited there in a four-month period, despite the COVID-19 crisis.
Chamber President Tim James, with Board Chairman Thomas Tafel greeted guests, too.
In the background of the gathering, a gigantic soundstage was being constructed. Epstein said it would host local bands, touring bands, movies and other events. Cola Concerts crews have spent several weeks upgrading and transforming the Historic Columbia Speedway into an outdoor concert venue.
Monday’s mix and mingle included drinks and appetizers and served as a “first look and preview” of the site before its Grand Opening which has been moved to November 16. First there will be a series of free movies, then concerts.
