Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the junction of Interstate 77 Northbound and Interstate 26 Eastbound at approximately 3 a.m., Saturday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Allen Ozoris Evans, 31, of Columbia was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident.
Mr. Evans was travelling along Interstate 77 Northbound when he failed to navigate a sharp curve, causing his vehicle to leave the road. The vehicle then crossed through a grass median, struck the overpass, and traveled down an embankment.

Mr. Evans was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
