The demolition of Pineview Elementary, 3035 Leaphart Road in West Columbia, has started.  The 52,300-plus square-foot school was originally built in 1968 on nine acres of land.

Pineview closed in spring of 2018, after hosting little Lexington Two students for 50 years. Would-be Pineview students now go to the new Riverbank Elementary.

Once the building is cleared, grass will be sewn at the site to create a community green space, according to Lexington Two administration.
