Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a fatal incident that occurred on Lake Murray on Saturday.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. near Tom Drafts Point in Gilbert.

According to Fisher, Ms. Kathryn Grayce Mullins, 20, of Statesboro, Georgia, was pronounced dead at an area hospital due to blunt force trauma. Ms. Mullins was the passenger of a pontoon boat that drifted into a dead tree on the edge of the lake, causing the tree to fall onto the boat.

No other injuries were reported. The incident is being investigated by the SC Department of Natural Resources.
