West Columbia murder victim identified, police looking for Chevrolet Silverado in connection

The West Columbia Police Department is requesting assistance from the community in identifying the Chevrolet Silverado that is pictured.

On Tuesday, Investigators of the West Columbia Police Department began an investigation into the murder that occurred on North Lucas St. in West Columbia. Lexington County Coroner Margaret W. Fisher identified the victim as 48-year-old Michael James Williams of North Lucas Street.

Over the course of the WCPD investigation, video surveillance footage revealed a vehicle of interest at the victim’s apartment complex,  Riverside Retreat Apartments, in the early and late evening hours of Sunday.

Law enforcement is working to locate the owners and occupants of this mid 90’s Chevrolet Silverado. The truck appears to have one fog light and multiple stickers on rear window. The truck has a silver tool box in the bed.
