Do you remember the 1971 Cayce-West Columbia Little League Football team? This photo is of the “Black” team. There was also a Gold, a Red team and a couple other teams, according to Bill Mooneyhan, who owns this photo and a souvenir program from the 1971 season. He was also on the Black team, No. 31.

The teams played Little League teams across the state. The Cayce-West Columbia All Star team went undefeated, winning a state championship with a 28-6 win in Charleston. Some of the league’s players moved on to play college football. The names of the players are included under the photo.

The coaches were: Guy Horne; Jerry Huggins; Jim Harpe; Ben Team; and Wayne Skipper.
