One person died Tuesday night in a one-vehicle collision in Lexington County Tuesday night.

The crash occurred at 8:14 p.m. on Bub Shumpert Road near Hartley Quarter Road about five miles south of Pelion, said Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell, of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 1999 Honda Passport, with three passengers, was traveling south on Bub Shumpert Road when it ran off of the left side of the road and hit a tree, said Tidwell. The two passengers in the front of the vehicle, who were wearing seatbelts, were transported to the hospital.

The person in the back of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt, and was killed, said Tidwell.
