Brookland United Methodist Church hosts luncheon for West Columbia personnel

Brookland United Methodist Church in West Columbia presented a luncheon, Friday, for City of West Columbia Public Works, city staff, West Columbia Police and West Columbia Fire.

State Sen. Nikki Setzler, West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles and Councilman Joseph Dickey also came to the event.

Brookland UMC Sound and Livestream Director Joey Yandle said more than 100 were served hamburgers and hot dogs inside the church.

Brookland UMC Pastor Mark Payne offered prayer. He also said the luncheon was a way to show apprciation for the work of the city’s employees.

“We look forward to serving the men and women of this community,” said Payne. He said food and fellowship is a good way to do that.
