SC Gov. Governor Henry McMaster announced Friday that inside dining will be allowed at the state’s restaurants. It goes into effect one minute after midnight. Monday.

Additionally, McMaster announced that he has lifted all boating restrictions, as defined by Executive Order 2020-25, effective immediately. All laws and regulations concerning the safe operation of boats in South Carolina will now return to normal.

“As we gradually and methodically lift restrictions aimed at combating the coronavirus, it is incumbent upon South Carolinians to follow the guidance and recommendations provided by our public health experts to keep themselves and their loved ones safe,” said McMaster. “This virus still presents a serious threat to South Carolinians, but I have faith in the people of our state and their ability to act responsibly and in the best interest of the communities they live in.”

The order allowing restaurants to reopen stipulates that only 50 percent of the number specified on the establishment’s certificate of occupancy will be allowed in.

McMaster said social distancing will still be practiced and tables are to be spaced at six-to- eight feet apart. Sanitizing will also be a priority.

McMaster said the restaurant reopening plan has been “well-thought out.”

He said he will likely address close-proximity businesses, including barber shops, hair salons, gyms and nail facilities, on Monday.
