No school for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year
Gov. Henry McMaster said Wednesday morning the state’s schools will remain closed for the rest of this school year.
Online instruction will continue for students throughout the month of May.
There could be some accommodations made so that special needs students can get instructions possibly in the summer months.
SC’s Supt. of Education Molly Spearman said there will be an effort to conduct graduation ceremonies.
There will be flexibility to pick up materials at schools said Spearman, probably in the last two weeks of May.
McMaster said his Accelerate SC group will address the dilemma of parents who must now find child care- instead of school- when the parents return to work.
