Sen. Nikki Setzler proposes porch-light vigil to honor frontline workers
State Senator Nikki Setzler wants to rally neighbors and fellow South Carolinians to honor essential workers.
Setzler, who lives in West Columbia and represents Lexington, Aiken, Calhoun, and Saluda counties, is asking everyone to leave their front porch light on overnight this Saturday (April 25) as a way to honor those working through the COVID-19 outbreak.
“This Saturday, April 25th, my family will leave our front porch light on all night as a thank you and tribute to our frontline, essential workers” said Setzler.
“While we fight COVID-19, they have put the needs of others before themselves. I hope you’ll join us and leave your light on to honor them too. To the hard-working and critical essential workers on the frontlines that keep us going every day, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. We all owe you a great deal of gratitude.”
