One person was killed after a car was hit on I-26 East early Sunday morning, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C, Highway Patrol.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the individual who died as Ms. Jamee Green, 24, of Columbia. She was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

The fatal collision occurred around 2:10 a.m. near mile marker 113 on I-26 eastbound, about a quarter-mile west of Cayce. The incident involved two tractor-trailers and a 2012 Buick LaCrosse. All were traveling in the eastbound lane.

The drivers or a passenger in one of the semis were not injured. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Tidwell said the Buick LaCrosse hit the rear end of a tractor-trailer and began to spin. The Buick then overturned. While the Buick was disabled on the interstate, a second tractor-trailer hot the Buick. The driver of the Buick was killed on the scene.
