Cayce Public Safety asks for camera recordings from Faye Swetlik’s neighborhood at update press conference

A photo was released Tuesday, taken with a bus surveillance camera of Faye as she exited the bus Monday. The shirt had the word “Peace” on it.

The Cayce Department of Public Safety held a press briefing on the case of missing Faye Marie Swetlik.

At the briefing, Cayce Department of Public Safety Director Byron Snellgrove reiterated that the search for the missing six-year-old has a tip hotline at hold on to this 803-205-4444.

“We’re following every lead we get,” said Snellgrove.

He said Faye was missed at about 3:45 p.m. Monday and her family began looking for her. After about an hour-and-15 minutes later, when she was not found, it became obvious that it was a serious situation, so Faye’s family notified police.

She said the little girl’s mother, the mother’s boyfriend and the mother’s mother are cooperating with the search. Several law enforcement agencies, from the FBI and SLED to police and Sheriff’s deputies, along with support staff, are looking for Faye.

Snellgrove said all possibilities are being considered. Including that Faye wandered into the woods and got lost, or she went to a neighbor’s house. Nothing is being ruled out.

He also asked residents of Churchill heights, the subdivision from which Faye went missing, to turn over any recordings that may from surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras or any similar device that may have recorded images in the neighborhood that may have picked something from 2 p.m. -to-5 p.m. Monday.

“Call and we’ll come get it,” Snellgrove said.

Snellgrove described Swetlik as a bubbly, energetic first-grader who was loved by all at Springdale Elementary School, and everyone else who knew her. Snellgrove said Faye fancy shoes, spending time with her family, cats and playing outside.

Faye rode the bus home from school and got off. She was believed to be playing in her yard and was last seen around 3:45 p.m.
