Lexington County Fire Services, Lexington County EMS and Irmo Fire District units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Deer Springs Trail Tuesday afternoon.

The first-arriving units reported that heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the residence. Fire units quickly went to work extinguishing the fire and had it under control quickly.

Four people were displaced as a result of the fire, with one suffering minor injuries. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
An investigation into the cause and origin of the fire are underway.
