All lanes of Hwy 378  (Sunset Boulevard) were blocked in the 2800 block, according to the West Columbia Police Department. There was a large gas leak in the area.

The eastbound and westbound exit ramps on I-26 onto 378 were closed too after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. All lanes and ramps were later reopened.

The road closure was just west of Lexington Medical Center. Police said “If you need to get to the hospital, please come from the east side of Sunset Boulevard. Avoid the area if possible.”
