Street closures expected for Trump visit Friday, says Cayce Public Safety, Democratic candidates expected too

The Cayce Department of Public Safety reported that it will release more information related to road closures and detours early next week.

Travel patterns will be affected by a visit to Columbia from President Donald Trump. Presidents when visiting Richland and Lexington counties land at Columbia Metropolitan Airport in Lexington County.

The president is expected to speak on Friday (Oct. 25) at Benedict College. He will deliver the keynote address at the Second Step Presidential Forum. The event is being put together by the 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center. The goal of that group is to is to “empower local leaders to implement innovative and practical solutions to problems in the criminal justice system.”

Democratic presidential candidates will also be featured at the forum. Expected are: Joe Biden; Bernie Sanders; Elizabeth Warren; Kamala Harris; Corey Booker; Pete Buttigieg; John Delaney; Amy Klobuchar; and Julian Castro.
