Gray Collegiate, Brookland-Cayce, Airport win in high school football

Calhoun County at Gray Collegiate

Gray Collegiate Academy had little trouble with Calhoun County Friday night.  The game was played at the Midlands Sports Complex in Pine Ridge.

The War Eagles defeated the Saints by a score of 58-20. Gray Quarterback Hunter Helms was 18-for-27. He passed for 357 yards and three touchdowns.

By the end of the third quarter Gray was up 58-14 and replaced its starters.

The win keeps Gray undefeated in 2A, Region 3 at 2-0. The War Eagles are 5-3 overall. Gray’s next game is at Eau Claire. Calhoun County is now 3-5 and 2-1 in Region 3. The Saints next game is versus Columbia. 

Brookland-Cayce defeated Midland Valley on the road by a score of 42-0. Airport beat Aiken 37-12, Thursday night.
