One of the state’s top developers is very excited about the opportunities to invest in West Columbia.

Joe Taylor is the former S.C. Secretary of Commerce and owner of State Street Development Co. He is involved in several projects in West Columbia.
Taylor has plans to develop approximately four acres of property around Center Street in the River District.

The development will include 34 single-family homes with parking spaces, and a pocket park on Herman Street. Another of Taylor’s projects is a new Class A office building coming to 508 Meeting Street.

Renovation is also underway on a building at 1205 D Avenue in Triangle City. Taylor is creating a new flex space. The 1960s structure will be an upgrade and will set the tone for commercial revitalization of near-by properties.

Taylor has also revitalized office space on State Street and built a storage facility on Center Street.
