Man charged with BUI after fatal crash on Lake Murray
A man has been charged with felony Boating Under the Influence after a 68-year-old man was killed on Lake Murray, Saturday night. Two others were also injured and were taken to the hospital as a result of the collision.
Tracy Gordon, 53, is charged with three counts of felony BUI after the boat he was driving hit a pontoon boat, according the the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
A man in the pontoon boat was killed. The victim’s wife and daughter were also injured.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts released the name of the man who died Saturday night in the boating incident on Lake Murray near 1925 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m.
Stanley Virgil Kiser, 68, of Cheryse Court, Chapin, was the driver of a pontoon boat that was struck by another boat. Mr. Kiser died at the scene. An autopsy indicated that the cause of death was due to multiple massive blunt force traumas to the head and torso
The Richland County Coroner’s Office, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and SC Department of Natural Resources are investigating the incident.
