Fire damages home in Lexington County
Lexington County Fire Services and Lexington County EMS units responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Carolyn Trail Monday afternoon just after 12 p.m.
Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home’s roof and windows. Fire units immediately began suppression operations, before proceeding inside to extinguish the remaining fire.
Units remained on scene for a while after the fire was extinguished to ensure hotspots were taken care of so that the fire wouldn’t ignite again.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but there was an estimated $101,000 in damages. A preliminary investigation suggests that the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
In total, two battalion chiefs, 10 units with 26 fire personnel and an EMS unit responded to the fire.
