“Christine Lutfy will be here at my shot for First Friday,” Lewis said. Lutfy is the artist who paited the Alleyway Mural that leads from State Street to the new Interactive Art Park that officially opened Wednesday.
Lewis also markets pottery, art pieces and the work of local icons by Jim Cheatham. “We sell a lot of his work,” said Lewis.

Also featured at State Street Trading Co. is the pottery of Virginia Scotchie.

“The First Fridays are a chance to see a lot of wonderful and unique things we offer,” said Lewis.

Other stops that are a must on First Friday are: The Warehouse, Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing, Frame of Mind, State Street Trading, and Ed’s Edition will all be open highlighting local artists and/or hosting sales and events.
State Street also boasts some of the best restaurants in all of the Columbia Metro area, including Cafe Strudel Al’s Upstairs, the newly renovated Terra, and the brand new Black Rooster.

There’s State Street Pub, with The Cigar Box and its deck on top, and New Brookland Tavern. They are great places for a drink and some social interaction.
