Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died after being struck by a vehicle in the 1900 block of Platt Springs Road. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

According to Fisher, Robbie Lee Grimsley, 60, of West Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries he sustained.

Grimsley was walking across the road when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, stopped to render aid. The West Columbia Police Department is investigating.
