Man, woman stopped in car reported stolen, charged with drug possession
A man and a woman face drug possession charges after a deputy stopped them Thursday in Gilbert driving a car reported stolen.
Stephanie Yvonne Farmer, 43, and Bobby Ray Wood, 37, are charged with possession of less than 1 gram of meth, according to arrest warrants.
“A deputy conducted a traffic stop on the car Farmer and Wood were riding in along Goldie Road after confirming it was reported stolen,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Before towing the vehicle, deputies located a black purse that contained drug paraphernalia and two clear plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance believed to be meth.”
Deputies also found a black bag that contained a digital scale with powdery and crystal-like residue on it, according to Koon. Another digital scale with a powdery substance on it was located in the glove box.
Farmer and Wood were arrested at the scene of the traffic stop and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center. Both have been released after posting bail.
