Fire chief says 2 Planter’s Station fires in same day do not appear to be suspicious
Lexington County Fire Service Chief Mark Davis and other LCFS staff met with a packed house during the Oak Grove Community’s local HOA meeting, Wednesday night.
Fire officials were at the meeting to discuss the recent fires in their area, include two fires in the Planter’s Station subdivision that destroyed two homes in less than a 24-hour time frame.
According to Marty Hall- a Planter’s Station homeowner- Davis stressed that there is no link between the two fires, that occurred Tuesday, in Planters Station. It appears that both fires started on the exterior of the homes.
Davis also said that the two fires do not seem to be suspicious at this time but an investigation is continuing.
Hall said residents were also told that two work orders have been submitted by the LCFS to Blue Granite (formerly Carolina Water Service) to add additional hydrants in the neighborhood.
Hall said Davis also gave out the business number for Lexington County Fire Services – 785-8145. Davis said LCFS personnel will come to your home to inspect or install smoke alarms for free.
