Lexington County Fire and EMS personnel responded to a residential structure fire in the 4400 block of Augusta Highway, Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival, smoke and flames could be seen coming from one of the residence’s rooms. The fire was put out. EMS is treating one person on scene for possible smoke inhalation.

Augusta Highway was  shutdown in both directions, while emergency personnel secured the scene. Motorists were advised to seek an alternate route and be on the lookout for personnel working in the area. Lexington County photos. Lexington County Fire Service responds to blaze on Augusta Highway
