The West Columbia Police Department is analyzing crime data and applying it to its policing methods, which enables the WCPD to determine crime trends so that resources can be allocated more efficiently. There were 4 vehicle crashes at Augusta Road and Methodist Park Road and 4 crashes at Augusta Road and Leaphart Road in September, according to data released by the West Columbia Police Department.
There were 93 collisions in September in West Columbia.
The WCPD also made 95 arrests in September, down from 108 in August. Officers conducted 398 traffic stops in September compared to 773 in August. There were 22 DUI arrests. Police wrote 259 citations and 200 warnings.
