5 taken to hospital after 2 separate shootings in Lexington County
A shooting investigation was underway Sunday evening, adjacent to a convenience store in 3800 block of Highway 321, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the store at approximately 7:20 p.m. after reports that two people were shot.
Both were taken to the hospital with injuries. The LCSD said they were told the injuries are not life-threatening.
Detectives were inside this convenience store following the shooting, interviewing potential witnesses who were on the scene at the time shots were fired near the store. A segment of Highway 321 northbound was closed as the investigation was conducted.
A sheriff’s report later said the LCSD believes it was an isolated incident between people who had an argument.
The Springdale Police Department was on Sightler Drive investigating a shooting incident, Sunday night. Three individuals were transported to local hospitals. Additional info will be provided as it comes available.
All individuals involved have been accounted for and there is no further threat to the public at this time, stated the SPD. Cayce Department of Public Safety South Congaree Police Department and Lexington County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist SPD.
