
3 with ties to Airport High School honored this month at the 2026 Educator Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni Gala



Three people with ties to Airport High School were honored at the 2026 Educator Hall of Fame & Distinguished Alumni Gala on April 28.
This year’s event was at the Lexington Two Innovation Center, 509 Bulldog Blvd., Cayce. It included a social hour with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by the formal program.
The annual event is presented by the Airport High School Educational Foundation.
Following are this year’s honorees.
EDUCATOR
CSM Harry Ferguson (retired 2023) – CSM Ferguson worked diligently with JROTC students, especially the drill team, bringing home many state and national awards. He continues to attend the basic training graduations and Army Ranger School graduations of his former students.
ALUMNI
Dr. Kimberly Green (graduated 1998) – Dr. Green currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at MUSC. She is specializing in malignant hematology with an interest in bone marrow and stem cell transplants.
Mr. Jeffrey Jones (graduated 1980) – Mr. Jones is currently retired from his family business, Smith & Jones. He is the director of the Scooter Scott Project and has been a volunteer leader since it began as the Nehemiah Project over 20 years ago.
