3 men arrested by Lexington County Deputies, charged with sending sexual messages to law enforcement officers posing as minors
Lexington County deputies have arrested three more South Carolina men accused of sending sexually charged messages to law enforcement officers posing as minors on social media last year.
Kenneth Allen Cook, 33, Brendon James Klinar, 32, and Don Laverne McLemore Jr., 52, are charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, according to arrest warrants.
“These three arrests bring our arrest total to 26 suspects from the monthlong operation we hosted last summer with the Lexington Police Department and the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The intent of these suspects during these communications is clear. They wanted to persuade, entice or coerce someone they reasonably believed to be under the age of 18 to engage in sexual activity.”
Cook resides in Newberry. Klinar lives in North Charleston. McLemore is a resident of Columbia, according to Koon.
Koon said no children were ever used or placed in danger during the operation.
