3 in Lexington County face drug, gun charges after deputies act on community tip

A community tip led investigators with the Lexington County Multiagency Narcotics Enforcement Team to Charleston Highway.

“A tip came in that Sammie Green (pictured left) was going to be in the area on Sept. 16 with a large amount of methamphetamine,” Lexington County Jay Koon said. “With help from Cayce police officers, investigators found Green in his vehicle, along with Wyatt Ryan James and Daidr’ea Torres.”

Koon said the investigators established probable cause to search the vehicle and James ran away, but was caught moments later

“That’s when we found out James discarded a bag containing just shy of one pound of meth,” Koon said. “Green and James both had guns on them.”

Green also had pills consistent with pressed fentanyl pills, which prompted a fentanyl possession charge against him, according to Koon.

“Green, James and Torres were charged with trafficking meth,” Koon said. “Green and James were also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.”

Green and James are in the Lexington County Detention Center. Torres has been released after meeting the conditions of her bond set by a magistrate judge.
