Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the two people who died in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Neely Wingard Road and Ben Franklin Road in the Leesville area of Lexington County around 9 p.m. on Sunday night.

According to Fisher, Ms. Claire Ann Pierce, 22, of Lexington was a passenger in a vehicle traveling southbound on Neely Wingard Road when the vehicle was struck by another vehicle traveling eastbound on Ben Franklin Road. Ms. Pierce was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger, 21-year-old, Eliza Jane Udy, of Leesville was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
