West Columbia’s Gray Collegiate wins 3rd straight basketball state title

Gray Collegiate defeated Whale Branch 53-39, Friday, for the West Columbia school’s third straight state 2A championship. Gray was ahead 24-22 at halftime. The War Eagles, coached by Dion Bethea, stretched the lead to 39-31 by the end of the third quarter. The game was played at Colonial Life Arena.
