
2 people killed in Lexington County crash Sunday night, according to the SCHP
Two people died in a collision that occurred Sunday night on Neely Wingard Road at Ben Franklin Road in Lexington County, about 8 miles east of Batesburg-Leesville.
The collision occurred around 8:58 p.m. and involved a 2019 Jeep Laredo and a 2004 Chevy Malibu, according to Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the SC Highway Patrol.
There were 3 people in the Malibu and 2 of them were killed when the two vehicles collided, said Tidwell. The was only one person in the Jeep Laredo. Tidwell said the Malibu was traveling south on Neely Wingard Road and the Laredo was traveling east on Ben Franklin Road when the vehicles collided.
The Lexington County Coroner has not yet released the names of the deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
