2 men arrested in connection to Dec. 29, West Columbia homicide

The West Columbia Police Department has arrested two men in connection to a murder.  Arrested are: 40-year-old Brandon Taylor and 34-year-old Rayshawn Suber. The two were arrested Tuesday and Wednesday by the West Columbia Police Department, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and the US Marshals Task Force.

The two men had been wanted by the West Columbia Police Department in connection to the Dec. 29, shooting death of Frankie Orlando Gardner at a house in the 700 block of Shull Street in West Columbia. 

Both men have been charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Criminal Conspiracy and are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

On Dec. 29, WCPD officers responded to a 911 call regarding a fatal shooting that took place in the 700 block of Shull Street, according to a press release from West Columbia Police Chief Marion Boyce. When officers arrived on scene, they found a victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body. 

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the man who was shot and killed as Mr. Frankie Orlando Gardner, 35, of West Columbia.
