The SC Highway Patrol is reporting that two people were killed on I-26 early Thursday morning.

A 2007 Chevrolet HHR was traveling west on I-26 in Richland County. The vehicle ran off the road and hit a guard rail. The driver of the HHR was killed, said Master Trooper Brian Lee.

A witness to the incident was crossing the road and a 2007 GMC Yukon, also traveling west, hit that person, resulting in another fatality, said Lee. The incident happened at 12:36 a.m. The SCHP is investigating.
