2 killed after motorcycle hits a man in Lexington
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individuals who died in a motorcycle vs. pedestrian accident in the 200 block of Kyzer Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County at approximately 9:55 p.m., Tuesday.
According to Fisher, Mr. Kevin Scott Collins, 63, of Lexington was crossing Kyzer Road after checking his mailbox when he was struck by James Leonard Ely III, 17, of Lexington who was traveling westbound on a motorcycle.
Mr. Collins was pronounced dead on the scene due to the injuries sustained in the accident. Mr. Ely, who was wearing a helmet, was also pronounced dead on the scene due to the injuries sustained in the accident. A passenger on Mr. Ely’s motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate
the incident.
