171 COVID-related deaths in Lexington County, says DHEC
As of Sunday, there have been 171 COVID-related deaths in Lexington County, since mid-March, according to the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.

The average age of COVID-19-related deaths in Lexington County is 80-years-old. Two elderly people in Lexington County died of COVID-19 Thursday, according to DHEC. There were no covid-19 deaths in Lexington or Richland Counties reported by DHEC, Saturday.
DHEC data shows a COVID recovery rate of 93.3 percent.
Of those who have died from COVID-19 in South Carolina, 78 percent had other health issues that contributed to their death. Almost 70 percent of those who died of COVID-19 in the state were over the age of 71. More than 90 percent of those who died were over the age of 61.
In the last week of September, 104 people died in South Carolina from COVIID-related causes.
DHEC also announced Sunday: 12 additional SC deaths; 619 new confirmed cases and 20 new probable cases; 45 were in Lexington County, 55 in Richland County.
