Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs.
pedestrian accident in the 1900 block of Woodtrail Drive, in the Gaston area of Lexington County on Saturday , at approximately 9:12 p.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Walter Vinicio Diaz Perez, 17, of Gaston was in the road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Woodtrail Drive. Mr. Diaz Perez was pronounced dead on the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver remained on scene and was not injured.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
