West Columbia Police officers responded to the Circle K gas station at 2600 Sunset Boulevard (near the I-26 off-ramp) at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers were responding a report of a robbery.

The officers were able to locate and detain the suspect, a 17-year-old Chester County resident.

Following an investigation, the suspect was charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Kidnapping. He has been transported to the Lexington County Detention Center to await bond court. The WCPD thanked the City of Cayce Police Department, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and Columbia Police Department, SC for assisting with this incident.
