If you plan to shoot off fireworks for the New Year, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is reminding residents that there is a noise ordinance in the unincorporated areas of Lexington County!
-On New Year’s Eve fireworks can be shot until 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1.

• Shooting off fireworks after 12:30 a.m., is a violation of the county’s noise ordinance violation ticket, which carries a fine of $150.
• On New Year’s Day fireworks can be shot from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
