15 vehicle crashes occurred at 4 separate West Columbia intersections in May according to West Columbia Police Department data
The West Columbia Police Department published data for the month of May. It showed that 15 vehicle accidents occurred at four separate West Columbia intersections in the month. There were three intersections where four accidents occurred and one intersection where three accidents occurred.
Four accidents happened at: Augusta Rd. (US 1) and Dreher Rd. Four accidents occurred at Augusta Rd. and Pinecrest Ave. and four accidents happened at Sunset Blvd and Chris Drive. There were three accidents at Meeting St. and Alexander Rd.
In all of May there were 94 collisions in the City of West Columbia in May compared to 121 in April. There were 13 DUI arrests made in May and 15 in April. There were 22 DUI arrests made in March.
The WCPD received 2,851 calls for service in May compared to 2,610 in April. Officers made
421 traffic stops in May compared to 435 in April.
There were 75 arrests made in May and 66 in April. There were 245 citations issued in May and the same number (245) issued in April.
In May, there were: three vehicle break-ins; 10 burglaries; no catalytic converter thefts; and five vehicle thefts. Response time in May was 6:12
There were 193 calls for a suspicious person and 138 alarm responses. There were 112 civil complaints; and 95 larceny calls.
