1 person killed in I-26 crash in Lexington County

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Lexington County on Sunday, according to Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Pye said the collision occurred on I-26 east near mile marker 117 at 12:17 a.m..

A Mitsubishi sedan was traveling east on I-26 when it drove off the left side of the road, hit a guard rail, and flipped over. The drive was killed in the crash. No one else was in the car. The name of the person killed has not been released yet by the Lexington County Coroner.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
