Units from the West Columbia Police Department responded to the intersection of Platt Springs Road and Dreher Road in West Columbia, Wednesday, at 8:31 p.m. Officers responded after a report of a two car collision. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to an area hospital where that person later died. Officers are investigating the accident to determine the cause.
