1 person dead after head-on collision on North Lake Drive in Lexington, involving 4 vehicles
One person died and another person was injured in a crash Friday morning in Lexington County, that involved four vehicles.
The collision happened on North Lake Drive near the intersection of Pilgrim Church Road, around 10:20 a.m., according Master Trooper William Bennett of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Bennett said a 2024 utility truck, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2026 Nissan Altima were all traveling north on North Lake Drive.
The utility truck attempted to turn left onto Pilgrim Church Road when a 2017 Kia Sorento traveling south on North Lake Drive attempted to avoid a collision with the truck and struck the Silverado head-on, causing the Silverado to strike a Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Silverado, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was taken to the hospital by EMS, but died as a result of their injuries.
The driver of the Kia Sorento was alone in the vehicle and was transported by EMS to the hospital. No one else was injured in the crash. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
