1 killed in crash involving a Lexington County Fire Service Engine

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Lexington County Fire Service Engine 316 was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of St. Matthews Road and Pine Tower Circle in Swansea. The collision involved a passenger vehicle with one occupant. That occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the occupant will be released by the Lexington County Coroner pending next of kin. Two firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
